A Saturday Sky

The sky on Saturday evening was wonderful. The sun was about to set, while white cottony clouds reached heaven. Hues of shiny silver and light gray painted the celestial blue sky, and my mouth opened in praise. The wide horizon filled my heart with hope as the depth of the sky lead my thoughts to God. The blend of shades seemed to invite me to come and see His glory as my heart experienced eternity. His infinite grace displayed bright colors of magnificent magenta that delighted my soul. Scenic stillness calmed my mind, anticipating His steadfast love that would linger through the dark night, and my gratitude faithfully reserved for this Sabbath.

Slow Me Down

Slow me down, Lord, I'm going too fast.
I can't see my brother when he's walking past.
I miss a lot of good things day by day;
I don't know a blessing when it comes my way.

Slow me down, Lord, I want to see
More of the things that are good for me.
A little less of me and a little more of you,
I want the heavenly atmosphere to trickle through.

Let me help a brother when the going is rough.
When folks work together life isn't so tough.
Slow me down, Lord, so I can talk
With some of your angels. Slow me down to a walk.

Hymn to Love

LOVE is patient,
            is kind.
LOVE does not envy,
            does not act wrongly,
            is not inflated.
LOVE is not ambitious,
            does not seek for itself,
            is not provoked to anger,
            devises no evil.
LOVE does not rejoice over iniquity,
            but does rejoice in truth.
LOVE suffers all,
            believes all,
            hopes all,
            endures all.
LOVE is never torn away, even if prophecies pass away, or languages cease, or knowledge is destroyed.
For we know only in part, and we prophesy only in part.
But when the PERFECT arrives, the imperfect passes away.
1 Corinthians 13:4–10
